Please call back later college essay requirements The way to create a rounded, wholly "real" and convincing fictional character is emphatically not to pile detail upon detail, to over-describe every feature and item of clothing down to the colour of socks, of how they sound, walk, laugh, where they come from, what music they listen to and food and drink they prefer, though of course any of those facts may get a mention here and there. Less is always more, especially when a character is first introduced. Donโt give the reader two long paragraphs of description. A single detail โ height, say, or apparent age, or one idiosyncracy, is enough to begin with and will pin that person down straight away. Let the reader do the rest. If I write:
